1. What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Shoreels ("App", "we", "us") processes information when you
use the mobile application. The App is a paid utility that helps you save and organize video and
web links from services like YouTube and Instagram. All data is primarily stored locally on your
device.
2. Personal data collected and processed
Shoreels does not require registration, does not create user accounts, and does not collect
names, email addresses, or contact details.
The App stores only the data you provide or that is derived from the URLs you save:
- Video / link data
- URL of each link you save (e.g. YouTube, Instagram, TikTok-like, or generic web URLs).
- Title (fetched from the platform or entered/edited by you).
- Thumbnail URL derived from the saved URL.
- Platform type (YouTube, Instagram, Unknown), detected from the URL.
- Category reference linking a video to a user-created category.
- Hashtags, free-form tags you enter.
- Favorite flag, whether a link is marked as favorite.
- Last watched date/time, when you last opened the link from the App.
- Creation date/time, when the link was saved.
- Notes, free-form text that may contain any information you choose to write.
- Category data
- Category name chosen by you.
- Category creation time.
- Backup / restore data
- When you export a backup, the App serializes the same local data (videos and categories)
into a file stored in a location you choose (for example, device storage or cloud).
- When you import a backup, the App reads that file and restores the data.
Because URLs, notes, hashtags, and category names are controlled by you, they may
incidentally contain personal or sensitive information if you choose to save such information.
3. Technical information collected
The App itself does not collect or store technical identifiers such as device ID, advertising ID, or
OS version for analytics or profiling.
When the App fetches video metadata or thumbnails over the internet, standard network
information (such as IP address, User-Agent, and request headers) is visible to the third-party
websites or services you interact with (for example, YouTube or Instagram servers). This is
inherent to normal web requests and is processed according to the third parties’ own privacy
policies.
The App does not include tracking, analytics, or advertising SDKs.
4. How and where your data is stored
- The primary data store (Room database) is located in the App’s internal storage on your
device and is sandboxed by the operating system.
- When you uninstall the App, the operating system removes the App’s internal data, including
the local database.
- Backup files you export are stored in locations you choose. These files may be accessible to
other apps or services that have access to that storage.
5. Data sharing and transfers
We do not transmit your local database contents to our own servers because all data is stored in
you.
Your data may be processed by third-party content providers (such as YouTube, Instagram, and
other websites) when you open links or when the App retrieves metadata or thumbnails from
their servers. These providers handle your data under their own terms and privacy policies.
6. Paid nature of the App (one-time purchase)
- Shoreels is a one-time paid application. After purchasing the App from the relevant app store
(for example, Google Play), you may use it indefinitely on compatible devices linked to your
store account, subject to these Terms.
- Payment details (such as credit card numbers and billing information) are processed by the
app store provider, not by Shoreels.
- We do not receive your full payment details.
- Refunds and billing issues are generally handled by the app store under its own policies.
7. Data retention and deletion
- On-device data is retained as long as you keep the App installed or until you use the in-App
"Wipe database" feature.
- Uninstalling the App removes its internal data from your device.
- Backup files you export remain wherever you stored them until you delete them. You are
responsible for removing backup files from external or cloud storage if you no longer wish to
retain that data.
8. Children and age criteria
The App does not target children specifically and does not include age verification. It does not
host content itself; it manages links to third-party services which may contain content for various
age groups.
By using the App, you confirm that you are at least the minimum age required by your local law
and by the app store (for example, 13 or 16 years of age). Parents or guardians should
supervise minors’ use of the App and the underlying content platforms.
9. Your rights
Because the App stores data locally and does not maintain a server-side profile:
- You can view and edit your entries directly in the App.
- You can delete data using the wipe feature, by uninstalling the App, or by deleting exported
backup files from your storage.

1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using Shoreels ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of
Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.
2. Description of the App and features
Shoreels is a paid mobile application that allows you to:
- Save and organize video and web links from third-party services (such as YouTube, Instagram,
and general websites).
- Add and edit titles, hashtags, notes, categories, and favorite flags for those links.
- Search your saved items.
- Export and import your data as backup files.
- Open saved links in external apps or browsers.
The App does not host or stream content itself; all content is hosted by third-party services.
3. License and one-time purchase
- When you purchase the App from the relevant app store, you are granted a non-exclusive,
non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on compatible devices associated
with your store account.
- The purchase is a one-time payment. There are currently no recurring subscription fees for
using the App.
- If we introduce additional paid features or subscriptions in the future, the terms, price, and
conditions will be clearly presented before purchase.
Billing, refunds, and payment issues are processed by the app store under its own terms. You
may need to contact the store directly for such matters.
4. Intellectual property and restrictions
- The App, including its code, design, and branding, is protected by copyright and other
intellectual property laws.
- You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, except where
permitted by mandatory law.
- You may not copy, distribute, resell, or sublicense the App, or remove any copyright or
proprietary notices.
5. User content and acceptable use
- You are solely responsible for the links, titles, notes, hashtags, and categories you create or
store in the App.
- You must ensure that you have the right to access and use content from third-party platforms.
- You agree not to use the App to store or manage content that is illegal, infringes the rights of
others, or violates the terms of third-party services; or to engage in activities that could harm,
disable, or overburden the App or its users.
6. Third-party services
- The App interacts with third-party services by opening links and retrieving metadata or
thumbnails.
- These services are not controlled by us; their content, availability, and policies are the
responsibility of their owners.
- You are responsible for complying with all applicable third-party terms when using their
services through the App.
7. Data, backups, and deletion
- Your data is stored locally on your device.
- You are responsible for creating and managing backups via the export feature and for keeping
backup files safe.
- If you uninstall the App, use the in-App wipe feature, or delete backup files, your data may be
permanently lost. We are not responsible for such data loss.
8. Age and content
- The App is intended for general audiences and assumes that users meet the minimum age
required by their local law and by the app store.
- Because the App only manages links, the nature of any viewed content depends on the
third-party platforms and on what you choose to save. Parents or guardians should supervise
minors’ use.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by Finnish law and other applicable law:
- The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or
implied.
- We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with all devices,
or that all third-party services will remain available.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Finnish law and other applicable law:
- [Gray Fox Mobile Apps] shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or
punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or business interruption arising from the use of or
inability to use the App.
- Our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to your use of the App shall be limited to
the amount you paid for the App, where such limitation is allowed.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
- These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland.
- Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the App shall be submitted to
the courts of [FINLAND], unless mandatory consumer protection laws require otherwise.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be made available together
with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes become
effective constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
